The Life Choices Family Planning Initiative is an integral part of the four-year USAID funded Behavior Change Support Project in Ghana. Family planning is one of five focal project areas, which also include maternal and child health, malaria, nutrition, and water, hygiene and sanitation.
There are three elements to the family planning program. These include demand for family planning services, supply of contraceptives and quality of services provided. Life Choices is the campaign that focuses on the demand for family planning services.
Life Choices is implemented by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs in partnership with CARE and PLAN International and is led by the Ministry of Health. Life Choices supports the National Population Council’s population strategy and policies. Life Choices was developed in partnership with top Ghanaian scriptwriters and producers with direct input from many other Ghanaians.
