The Health Communication Partnership Uganda (HCP) five-year (2007-2012) project ended on June 30, 2012.
Since 2007, HCP, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has worked collaboratively with the Government of Uganda and over 75 organizations with the aim to change individual behavior, mobilize communities, create an enabling environment for sound health practices and build capacity in health communication.
HCP materials support health communication efforts which include paediatric HIV, family planning, HIV care and treatment, couple HIV counselling and testing, safe male circumcision, radio distance learning for Village Health Teams, and the National Health Hotline. In addition, HCP provided technical assistance to the Young Empowered and Health (Y.E.A.H.), an initiative of the Uganda AIDS Commission, since its inception by HCP-I in 2004.
In addition to the HCP Uganda 2007-2012 final report, available below, project materials including communication strategy documents, research reports, communication materials, videos and radio clips from each technical area are available online 24/7 in e-toolkits at www.k4health.org/toolkits/hcp.
