Overview
The primary goal of the MCC – USAID Threshold Immunization Program (TIPS) is to raise immunization rates among rural children to 95% within two years. This requires the implementation of an integrated strategy that looks at strengthening the national and regional management and logistic systems (immunization management, logistics, and immunization information system), services provider’s skills and demand generation. As part of this project, CCP is collaborating with Abt Associates Inc. and CARE/Peru to support the MOH National Immunization Strategy in the design of a demand generation communication strategy to strengthen and increase effectiveness of “itinerant brigades."
Accomplishments
To do this CCP is faciliating the development of a threefold strategy:
- Building inter-cultural relations and interpersonal communication competences among 145 brigade’s health workers.
- Supporting a social mobilization process at the district and community levels among various stakeholders.
- Developig an overarching advocacy and communication multimedia strategy for the itinerant brigade.
