Brothers For Life, the JHHESA-run initiative that empowers men and targets them with HIV prevention messages, is busy celebrating fathers this month.
A father enjoys spending time with his children.
Some of the upcoming efforts include:
- A supplement celebrating fatherhood in the Daily Sun [1], the largest newspaper in South Africa, read by six million people daily.
- The launch of a new national radio talk show, in partnership with the public broadcaster SABC, to focus attention on men’s health and identify Brothers within communities who are making a positive contribution to their communities. The show will be aired on 11 stations, in 11 languages, and will run for six months.
- Twenty community dialogues on men’s health will be held in June, and another 20 dialogues will be held in July. The goals of these dialogues are to improve men’s health and promote the medical male circumcision. Brothers For Life will host traditional leaders to formulate strategies to promote men’s health as part of this effort.
Happy Father’s Day!
