Applications Due by March 15

BALTIMORE — The Center for Communication Programs (CCP) based at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will present an entirely new curriculum when it holds its 19 th workshop on strategic health communication this summer in Baltimore .

Part of the Advances in Health Communication and Advocacy series , the new workshop will take place from June 6 to June 24 and is entitled Leadership in Strategic Health Communication: Making A Difference in Infectious Diseases, HIV/ AIDS and Reproductive Health .

“We redesigned our workshop to better respond to changing health needs around the world by providing more need-based course content,” said Course Director Benjamin Lozare, PhD, who also leads CCP's Training Division. “Our participants can now specialize in three core areas: HIV/AIDS, infectious disease, or reproductive health.”

The redesigned course also incorporates the latest thinking on leadership development and how it applies to strategic health communication planning. It is designed for decision-makers, administrators, health educators, program officers, and donor agency field staff.

Guided by international communication and health experts, workshop participants explore the elements of effective behavior development communication and advocacy programs in a lively, friendly, and creative atmosphere. Participants learn from each other, from knowledgeable trainers, from the resources of the Johns Hopkins University , and from the worldwide experience of the Center for Communication Programs. In addition, this year's workshop offers an optional one-week, one-on-one coaching session for participants that want to consult CCP staff on projects or proposals.
