FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Healthy Russia 2020 Website Revised to Address Project's New Focus on HIV/AIDSBALTIMORE — Healthy Russia 2020 (www.healthyrussia.ru) has updated its website to reflect the project's increased focus on HIV/AIDS, a growing problem among Russians. Supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the five-year project now focuses on HIV/AIDS prevention and related health risks among Russia 's general population and its youth. Launched in 2002, Healthy Russia 2020 created the Healthy Russia Foundation (HRF), a Russian NGO based in Moscow and staffed by health communication and advocacy specialists that will carry on Healthy Russia after the USAID-funded project ends. Designed for project partners, medical specialists, and the general public, the new website provides comprehensive information about Healthy Russia. The site includes all project materials, publications, and news about HIV/AIDS and related topics from the four regions in Central and Western Russia where Healthy Russia is active. It will soon include information and materials from other USAID-funded organizations working in Russia in the field of HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, and maternal and child health. The Healthy Russia project is led by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs (CCP) in collaboration with The Futures Group International and Project HOPE. CCP is a pioneer in the field of strategic, evidence-based communication programs for behavior change and health promotion. Currently working in more than 30 countries, CCP has a strong record of working with local partner institutions to achieve measurable change in health outcomes.
