Entertainment-Education Conference Begins September 26

CAPE TOWN , South Africa — Public health and entertainment specialists from around the world are set to descend on Cape Town , South Africa , later this month for the Fourth International Conference on Entertainment-Education (EE4). From September 26 th to 30 th , social scientists, researchers, health communication experts, educators, marketing professionals, creative artists, producers, distributors, and representatives from government and international funding organizations will meet to discuss the field.

Participants will focus on recent developments in entertainment-education programs by sharing experiences, opportunities, and challenges. They will also work towards developing a consensus on further enhancing EE methodology and field practice. The conference will explore various forms of entertaining communication including story telling, songs and drama, and mass communication approaches, as well as related theories and research.

The conference is organized by South Africa 's Soul City , the Center for AIDS Development, Research and Evaluation (CADRE), and DramAidE, as well as Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs (CCP).
