Auto-Disable Syringes

P:In my country in order to promote injection safety, they have started toprovide immunizations with a new type of syringe called "auto-disable." These syringes have a really clever feature to prevent them from being used more than once. Do you think we will be seeing this kind of syringe for injectable contraceptives such as DMPA as well?

R:Yes, the same concerns about injection safety are leading to the use of such syringes for DMPA as well.
