May 22, 2003 Zambia Child Immunization Levels
I think it is great some health indicators are improving in Zambia, but what about child immunization?
Zambia's immunization levels are comparatively high, but have suffered some recent reversals. For example full, 3-course DPT levels went from 77% in '92 to 86% in '96 but declined to 80% in 2001-02. Likewise measles coverage went from 77% to 87% in '96, but declined to 84% in 2001-02.
Sad to say, declines in immunization are occurring in all too many places.
