CCP's VOICES for a Malaria-Free Future project in Tanzania is raising awareness about malaria through Africa's oldest football tournament: the CECAFA Cup. From Nov. 27 to Dec. 12, the CECAFA Tusker Cup draws as many as 60,000 fans per game, plus many more at home, in a region of Africa that loses 209,000 lives each year to malaria. VOICES and the UAM campaign manager worked with CECAFA (short for the Council of East and Central African Football Associations) to incorporate malaria communications into the tournament.
