Fresh off the press, “GOAL!” is CCP’s newest and most exciting publications aimed at raising awareness and renewed commitment to end malaria in Africa.
Under the motto “One team. One goal. Together we can stop malaria,” this unique journal features 8 colorful pages packed with spectacular photos, interviews with football mavericks like Didier Drogba, malaria winning messages and strategies, a quiz and an updated game schedule. Using the momentum of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the United Against Malaria (UAM) campaign, of which CCP/JHBSPH is a founding member, hopes to save lives and magnify net coverage across Africa by the end of 2010. The UAM partnership has grown exponentially in recent months and includes famous soccer clubs and stars, corporations, celebrities, political leaders and global health advocates engaged in the fight against this curable disease. Goal is available in four languages (English, French, Portuguese and Swahili) and is being circulated to nine countries across sub-Saharan Africa, where malaria claims more than 1 million lives annually.
