Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Interior, USAID-funded JHCP launched the National Campaign for Family Planning with the slogan “Hayati Ahla” (My Life is More Beautiful) in Al Zarqa Governorate. The launching ceremony was held at King Abdulla Cultural Center in Al Zarqa in the presence of USAID Mission Director Mr. Jay Knott, Governorate stakeholders and officials from the public and private sectors.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) and cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Interior and Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health – Center for Communication Programs, and witnessed by USAID Mission Director Mr. Jay Knott, aiming to enhance cooperation and coordination between the parties in local and regional development areas and build institutional capacities through the implementation of communication programs and projects to build a more health competent Jordan.
The Hayati Ahla National Campaign with the tagline “Modern family planning methods offer many choices…consult your doctor to choose the most suitable method for you” was designed to target potential and current users of family planning methods, health service providers (public, private and NGOs), and spouses (men), with the aim of increasing the percentage of women using modern contraception, creating a sense of belonging with other modern FP users, empowering potential and current FP users by connecting them with the health centers as resources for “Hayati Ahla”, introducing counseling as a partnership between the client and service provider for informed decision-making, improving spousal communication, and fostering positive attitudes among providers regarding modern contraceptives, spacing and small family size.
