JHCP worked together with the Ministry of Interior, Al Zarqa Governorate, the Ministry of Health Maternal and Child Health Centers, and the Higher Population Council to establish interventions using a bottom up process, and in collaboration with service delivery centers, distributed a variety of communication and media materials including large outdoor “Hayati Ahla…join us” entrance signage; customized (IEC) waiting areas to include locally relevant TV/DVD information, posters, “information kiosks”, and also distributed posters that reflect local testimonials and experiences, as well as an interactive IPC package utilized to introduce counseling as partnership between the service provider and client under the name “Consult and Choose”, which included a client checklist, client cue cards, service provider cue cards, spousal communication stickers and brochure, referral cards, and posters.
The campaign activities included 35 maternal and child health centers in Al Zarqa, 40 societies executing the “Arab Woman Speaks Out” initiative, the Civil Status and Passports Department, as well as Zarqa and Rusaifeh Districts Awqaf Directorates. Campaign activities in Zarqa also included school children in 10 schools that are part of the Health Competent Schools Initiative.
Distribution of materials included 250,000 client counseling checklists, 381,000 client cue cards, 100,000 client referral cards, 45 service provider cue cards, 10,000 Hayati Ahla Balloon pins, and 1,000 service providers’ lab coats embroidered with Hayati Ahla logo.
