PACTO is launching a mass media campaign with the National Women's Forum (Forúm Mulher), Men for Change Network (HOPEM), Women and Law in Southern Africa (WLSA), UN Women and partners of the USAID Gender Based Violence Program.

The following activities will take place during PACTO’s 16 days of activism:

• A mass media campaign will run throughout the 16 days featuring several TV and radio spots and posters portraying public figures and local leaders from across Mozambique offering testimonials and declarations against domestic violence. PACTO is also tying GBV to its Multiple Concurrent Partnerships mass media campaign, “Stepping out is very risky”.
• A conference sponsored by the National Women's Forum on accountability for the implementation of the Mozambican law against violence (November 28-29).
• A march for men and women to unite in condemning gender-based violence (December 8).
• An interfaith service to raise awareness to fight against and condemn all forms of violence against women from a religious perspective (December 14).
• High-profile television and radio programs will include the message that GBV is unacceptable. Two highlights include programming on the popular talk shows Homem que é homem (Men who are real men) and Belas Manhãs (Beautiful Mornings).
• School-based activities to refresh messages regarding GBV, existing laws and girls’ vulnerability.
• Other activities and materials to continue to disseminate and analyze existing GBV-related laws.
