ANDREA: Time for Love - Sexual Responsibility on Prime-Time Television. 1998. Andrea is a five-episode prime-time television mini series created for broadcast in Peru. The storyline follows two young couples as they deal with the turbulence of their teen years, including romantic relationships and parental strife.
DALE TIEMPO AL TIEMPO (Give Time a Chance). 19(??). This song and its accompanying video clip (translated as "Give Time a Chance"), were produced and performed by well known Nicaraguan song writers and performers. The purpose of the project was to encourage youth to enjoy love and live intensely - but not be hasty in making important decisions.
DAME TONO / "Give me a Line": Creating a Safe Space for Adolescent Reproductive Health Information in Peru. 19(??). "You talk, we listen" is the promise of the website "Give me a Line" or "Dame Tono". Designed in Peru for the Ministry of Health, the website creates a virtual community for adolescents, allowing them to express themselves, learn about sexuality and reproductive health, and simply have fun.
DIALOGO AL DESNUDO: Bringing Gender into the Mainstream. 1995-1996. "Dialogo al Desnudo" was created as a prime-time television series consisting of 12 episodes, intended to raise awareness and discussion of reproductive health and gender issues among Bolivian women and men ages 15 to 45.
ISABEL:Your Electronic Counselor" Makes Sex Education Accessible to Young People in Perú 1997-Present. This project involved the design of an interactive multimedia CD-ROM to deliver family planning, reproductive health and sexuality information to youth in Peru, allowing dissemination of sensitive information while preserving the anonymity of the user.
JUNTOS DECIDIMOS CUANDO: "Together We Decide When" - A Nicaraguan Youth Campaign. 1997-1998. Juntos Decidimos, a national communication campaign in Nicaragua aiming to reduce adolescent pregnancy, was a project intended for youth between the ages of 15 - 24. Several 30-second spots and other materials were produced.
The Reproductive Health Dialogue Continues: PIEL DE LUNA Addresses Adolescent Sexuality. 1997-1998. A prime-time television series intended for urban women, men, and couples ages 15 to 19, "Piel de Luna" encouraged dialogue and debate on issues related to gender and human sexuality. The series aired 20 minutes weekly followed by 10 minutes of related discussion by teens around the country.
TATIANA and JOHNNY. 1985-1986. One of the first projects to incorporate messages of sexual responsibility into a hit song. Mexican pop singers Tatiana and Johnny successfully reached millions of youth throughout the region with two hits, "Cuando Estemos Juntos" and "Détente." In addition to the songs and music videos, TV and radio spots promoting messages from the songs were also produced.
TRAINING FOR ADOLESCENT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS. 19(??). This project developed a curriculum to train providers in core adolescent health competencies, delivered on a multimedia CD-ROM. The computer-based course offers information and skills in adolescent development and sexuality, contraceptive technology and STDs, adolescent-centered services and interpersonal communication and counseling. |
