Activity Summary
HCP analyzed the results from the 2003 ENJOVEN II survey to assess changes in knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding adolescent pregnancy. This information helped identify barriers to pregnancy prevention as well as the role of communication in the socio-cultural context, service delivery, and individual/community domains.
Through a process of collaboration and technical assistance from HCP, the national Interagency Commission for Reproductive Health, a coalition of NGOs and government agencies working in RH developed a five year strategy for adolescent reproductive heath. The Commission used the new P-Process to develop the strategy and identify activities that the commission together and the organizations individually can carry out in the next five years.
A set of dual protection materials was also developed to stimulate dialogue on individual risk of unintended pregnancy and HIV/AIDS and STIs. The materials are geared for peer-to-peer counseling programs and used in sessions individually or in a group.
