The Center for Communication Programs helps individuals, families, and communities around the world take charge of their health. CCP's “bottom-up” approach empowers people living in developing countries with the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy choices about a variety of public health issues.

For example, in Bangladesh , CCP helped develop a package of materials for adolescents that guides their decision-making so they develop into healthy adults. In Pakistan , Haiti , and Indonesia , CCP promotes a water purifying method used in homes to prevent diarrheal disease. And in Zambia , Baltimore , and West Africa , CCP helps people live positively with HIV and AIDS through films that break down the stigma that can isolate those infected.

CCP's strategic, evidence-based communication programs for behavior change are designed to save lives, improve health, and enhance well-being. CCP's programs make a difference because strategic communication is key part of any strategy for tackling the world's major public health problems.

CCP works in a variety of areas including HIV/AIDS, safe motherhood, child survival, reproductive health, infectious disease, resource preservation, hygiene improvement, and clean water.
