This paper analyzes the implementation of the Reproductive and Child Health approach in the state of Rajasthan and assesses the impact of the paradigm shift at the grass roots. This study is based on the survey of primary health centers and sub-centers in Jaipur district conducted during January, 2001. The major issues identified relate to the decentralization of the program, management through Panchayati Raj institutions, training and infrastructural constraints to deliver the broadened set of reproductive health services.
