Senior Technical Writer - The INFO Project
Ruwaida M. Salem is a Senior Technical Writer with the INFO Project based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs. She has authored several issues of Population Reports on a range of topics, including "Communication for Better Health," "New Attention to the IUD," "When Contraceptives Change Monthly Bleeding," "Mens' Surveys: New Findings," and "Meeting the Urban Challenge." Population Reports is a thrice-yearly journal that provides an accurate and authoritative overview of important developments in family planning and related health issues free of charge for developing-country audiences. Ms. Salem has also authored other publications such as the INFO Reports issue, "Closing the Effectiveness Gap." Her research interests include population dynamics, gender issues, and contraceptive technology. Before joining the INFO Project in 2001, she worked at Birzeit University's Institute of Community and Public Health in Palestine as a Research Assistant, where she was involved in planning, implementing, and analyzing results of research studies on various reproductive health issues. She has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
